Chapter One

The Indiana Romance Writers of America® Chapter #15, was founded on January 1, 1982 and incorporated in 1985. Through the years much has changed, but our mission is the same: to raise and maintain a level of high quality romance writing in all genres, educate, and bring together authors, editors, agents and other related professionals for the mutual benefit of all.

We aren't a club or a social organization (although we do have our share of fun, as anyone who has joined us on our Bradford Woods Retreat can tell you). We are a professional organization with the primary function of educating and networking with other writers. In addition to writing, we never lose sight of the fact that romance writing is a business and an important part of the publishing industry. (See industry statistics here.)
